4 types of skateboarding that you should practice
We will present you a list of 4 modalities of skateboarding that you probably did not know, these can be done outdoors without problem. They are excellent if you want to test your skills, have a good laugh, feel adrenaline and have fun to the fullest. Let's start with the listing.
Slalom
The slalom modality is originally about going down a slope that has a route marked with cones. The route once established must be passed by the skaters to get the best possible time. The trap? It has many curves and parts that require good technique from the skater, this modality can help you test how well you control the board.
To practice this modality skaters launch themselves down a hill (preferably asphalt) with previously marked cones. One person will be in charge of taking the time and in the group of skaters, the one who manages to do it the fastest will win. The good thing about this modality is the great variation that we can do.
As it is a route created manually with plastic cones, you can play with their shape and slope. You can also change the slope, it is a very fun modality and it can be practiced practically anywhere.
Of course, to practice this modality you must have all the security measures, even if you don't like it. By involving speed, cornering, skidding and other dangerous techniques, you may fall off the board and end up injuring yourself. Have your elbow pads, knee pads, helmet and protective clothing, safety is the basis of fun.
Downhill
Its name in English would translate as hill descent, a perfect description of what the modality is. Its name derives from the name of the table with which you must practice this.
Starting this modality you should know that the boards used are not the conventional ones of skateboarding. Boards with a greater length called longboards are usually manufactured, this is done in order to have greater stability on unfavorable terrain. The conditions also affect a lot, and it is that they will be going down roads at high speed. These can be wet, with imperfections, aggressive curves, etc.
It can be considered one of the most dangerous that we will be talking about in this article. It is recommended to use all the security you can and also have a good command of the table, the speeds reached exceed 100 km/h. You don't want something to happen to you at that speed, right? Be very careful and do not do this modality if you do not feel sure of your abilities.

Freestyle
If you are a skater who prefers the simple before risking your life going down a slope at 100 km/h, you can try freestyle. This modality does not carry any risk from the other world, it is practiced on a flat surface and in common conditions for a skater.
What is done in this modality is an exhibition of your skills and fun tricks to encourage the public. Of course, you can practice it with your colleagues and compete healthily in who can do the best trick or performance. It is a fun modality and with which you can test everything you know about skateboarding at the moment.
This modality became very fashionable between the 60s and 90s, it was common to see conventions with this modality and a lot of background music. People go crazy seeing tricks they never imagined could be done on a board.
As in any other sport, freestyle is about that, freestyle developing your sport. There are no specific rules, an objective or limitations, it's you, your board and the time they give you to develop the tricks. Excellent to spend those summer afternoons in a relaxed atmosphere and with other skaters accompanying you.
Mountainboarding
Perhaps the modality that is least known in the world of skateboarding, but the one that can make you laugh the most with your colleagues. For this, a specially conditioned environment is needed to meet the route and conditions for a good track layout.
As its name indicates, it's mountain skateboarding, a great way to spend time walking between the mountains. The safest thing is that you should go to a local company or business that offers this service, since the mountain must be suitable for the circulation of skaters.
It's similar to snowboarding, but on a dry mountain and on a skateboard. For this modality, a special skate is required, with fixings for your feet so that you do not detach yourself from the board when going through potholes or ramps. The suspension of these boards is also special, providing comfort when riding on an uneven surface. You walk all the way, if you want to compete with your colleagues you can bet to see who gets to the end first without falling.
